Acupuncture is quickly becoming a popular complimentary medicine to IVF treatments. Acupuncture has been known to help with the possible side effects from the medications involved at the beginning of the IVF process and to also make the body more responsive to each phase of the treatment.

At the first consultation, a full medical history is taken including questioning about lifestyle and diet, followed by the initial treatment. The number of treatments required pre-transfer varies on the severity of possible side effects experienced but is usually only a few at most.

Subsequent treatments are then scheduled around:

  1. Stimulation of the ovaries (around day 2-3 of the cycle)
  2. Before the transfer of embryos
  3. After the transfer of embryos

We also appreciate that appointments with IVF Clinics can be brought forward with very little notice. In this situation, we always do our best to re-arrange your acupuncture treatments around the IVF treatment at no extra charge.
